Carol Ann Van Dyke (Eernisse) was born to John & Henrietta Eernisse on January 29, 1946. She attended school in Chandler, MN and graduated from Chandler High School in 1964. Carol met Larry in elementary school, they married on August 14, 1964 and were blessed with five children. They lived on their acreage east of Chandler until 2013 when they moved to Edgerton.
Carol enjoyed being active in her church as a Sunday school and Catechism teacher; she loved music and singing in the choir. She was quick to volunteer at church, school, or anytime she could throughout the community. In all that she did, Carol would spread joy to those around her. She loved to laugh and have fun; she was ready to pull a prank or answer with a witty reply. Carol was a great cook; she loved to cook meals for her sons working on the yard and is remembered for her chocolate chip cookies the grandchildren loved to sneak.
One of Carol’s greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren. It was easy for the kids to come from school and spend time with her. Many fond memories were made during tea parties and over a home cooked meal.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Larry; their children and grandchildren; Todd (Melisa) Van Dyke of Edgerton, MN, Sierra (Tyson) Kruisselbrink, Taylor Van Dyke; Tami (Barry) Bork of Beaver Creek, MN, Tate, Tori, and Tyson (Brianna); Terry (Carrie) Van Dyke of Slayton, MN, Conner (Jade) and Carter; Troy (Paula) Van Dyke of Iona, MN, Charli, Porter and Maisy; Tricia (Justin) Prins of Edgerton, MN, Mara, Miles and Maybri; and five great-grandchildren including Callum, Claire, Cru; Emmy and Bodhi; her brothers Allen (Linda) Eernisse and Leon (Sandy) Eernisse; Larry’s siblings; Velva (late Tony) Baar; Julie (Don) Kuiper; Les (Diane) Van Dyke; the late Linda Heitbrink; and Leanne Van Dyke.
