Catherine Kuhl

October 18, 1938 — February 15, 2026

Worthington, MN

Catherine (Post) Kuhl, age 87, passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on February 15, 2026. Kathy was born on October 18, 1938, on a farm near Chandler, MN to James and Jennie Post, the ninth child of ten. Kathy often said they never had extra money but they always had plenty of food to eat.

She met her beloved husband, Louis Kuhl, while roller skating in Edgerton, MN. They were married on November 6, 1958, and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. They lived and raised their family in Worthington, MN.

Kathy’s faith was a solid foundation throughout her life. She was active in the American Reformed Church, and her church family was the source of many enriching, life-long friendships. She volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels, at the Bibles for Mission thrift store, participated in ARC and Circle Bible studies, World Bible League, Kids for Christ and VBS. You could count on her to bring baked goods to any event. Kathy worked as an elementary classroom aide in the Worthington school district for 30 years. She also loved to grow a vegetable garden each summer. One of her favorite past times was spending time with her siblings and their spouses. She often commented that she didn’t like being the last sibling to pass away and missed her siblings immensely.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family: husband, Louis Kuhl; children, Charlie (Brenda) Kuhl of Sibley, IA, Karen (Michael) Wajer of Hartford, SD, Carol (William) Hall of Centennial, CO; grandchildren, Matthew Wajer, Melissa (Jon) Brown, Kati (Yago) Missagia, Maranda Kuhl, James Hall and William Hall; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Annarose and Nathaniel; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Susan Post, Peter & Carol Kuhl and Curtis Colson; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings: Bernice Manderscheid, Nelson Post, Ada Dekoekkoek, Walter Post, Geneva Toering, Frank Post, Evelyn Lubben, Edith Walhof and James Post.

A graveside service will be held on April 18, 2026 at 11:00am at the Chandler Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be directed towards Ava's Hospice House or any charity of your choice in memory of Catherine.
